Bowser is up to no good again!  This time, he has used a powerful artifact dubbed the "Ztar Rod" to drain all the energy from the Star Shrine, where the seven Star Spirits watch over the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom.  The Star Spirits tried to fight back, using the power of the Star Rod to stop the Koopa King, but unfortunately, he got the upper hand and captured them.  With the Star Rod powerless, all of the newborn Star Kids cannot make their way to the shrine...

When Starlow flees to inform the Mario and Luigi of the events, Luigi spots Bowser Jr. flying on an airship over them.  Mario and Starlow give chase, with Luigi reluctantly coming along.  And from there, the adventure begins...

- Traverse across eight huge worlds in the Mushroom Kingdom, while saving each of the seven Star Spirits.
- Many classic power-ups will appear, like the Fire Flower, Cape Feather, and even the Mega Mushroom.  Some of Mario's moves from Super Mario 64 will make a comeback as well.
- Hidden Star Coins in each level and hidden level exits will give a great amount of replay value, so even after you beat the game, the challenges continue!
- Interact with favorite characters from the Mario games, including Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, the Toad Brigade, and even Vivian from Paper Mario 2.  Every character will play an important role in the storyline.
